On view were a selection of Kelley’s collages based on the Wake and her artists books related to pages one through 216 of the text.
The listening stations featured works by sound artists Bernard Clarke and Jonathan Nelson. Among the sound works were Clarke’s “not yet,” a lively and inventive reading of page one of the Wake and “thin lips, hair erect, loose carriage,” a portrait of James Joyce based upon interviews culled from the archives of RTÉ Ireland’s National Radio Broadcaster. Nelson’s “House of the Haunted Ink Bottle” is a sound collage consisting of hundreds of vocal fragments that form a reading of pages 182-184 of Finnegans Wake.
